Agriculture and Self Sustainability
Ranch Days cover a host of different subjects aside from just agriculture. Just to name a few topics:
Beef Cattle/Husbandry
From herding cattle, working them in the pens, ear tagging, worming, cow/calfs and everyday care of beef cattle.
Poultry/Egg Production
Every day care of poultry, egg production, incubation of eggs, baby chic care.
Gardening/Horticulture
Soil samples studying the nutrition breakdown of the soil, to prepping, planting harmony crops, insect/pest control using plants/flowers, composting
Ranch Work (mechanic, fences, etc)
Building fences, gates, mowing, equipment use and care, mechanic work, welding, etc
Produce Preservation
Produce preservation/canning practices, future seed preservation for sustainability
Wood Working / Carpentry
On the farm, construction and building is a part of the day. Learn the basics of building and construction of such things as barns, horse stalls, chicken coops, etc.
